Sigitas Mičiulis
Sigitas Mičiulis is a public figure, entrepreneur, former Mayor of Tauragė District Municipality, and pioneer of the Green Initiative in Tauragė.
Born in Vilkaviškis district and having obtained a systems engineer qualification at Kaunas Polytechnic’s Faculty of Automation, Sigitas became an active member of the “Green Club” as early as 1987. Soon after, he was elected to the first Tauragė Council of the Lithuanian Reform Movement.
Throughout his long career, Sigitas founded the company “Bremena,” where he implemented thermal energy-saving projects across Lithuania and reconstructed over 100 uneconomical and polluting boiler houses.
In 2016, upon becoming the Mayor of Tauragė District Municipality, Sigitas set an ambitious goal: for Tauragė to become the most nature-friendly municipality in Lithuania and to establish a STEAM center for exact sciences laboratories, which would include a separate laboratory for future clean energy.
Sigitas eagerly shares his knowledge about clean energy with students, municipalities, businesses, and city guests, and enthusiastically spreads the message about Tauragė’s ambition to become a climate-neutral and smart city by 2030.
“Thanks to our collective efforts, step by step, we are moving towards this goal.”
